WEIGH IN!

As I write this, it is almost 10:15 at night -- only 2:15 in the afternoon at home. We went to weigh-in at Weight Watchers in Vence (Brad took a photo which I will upload tomorrow; it's still in my camera.) It astonishes me that I didn't put on any weight this week. I didn't lose any, either (I'm exactly the same as last week) but I'd be a liar if I said I'm keeping track of everything I eat. That alone is somewhat surprising, since I'm so fanatical about doing so at home, but hey, I'm at least trying to stick with the program -- more or less. Perhaps that's why my weight loss has been stagnant "more or less." I still refuse to fret about it -- I'll hit the road running when I get home and, based on how wonderful (truly wonderful!) the food is over here, it's nothing short of a miracle that I haven't gained anything. I hope this doesn't disappoint my WW friends at home -- I know they're cheering me on and they were probably hoping I'd do a bit better than I have. But, who knows what the week ahead will hold...

After weigh-in we went out to dinner (naturally) and ended up in a restaurant surrounded with at least five different nationalities: 36 people in the (outdoor) restaurant and only ONE waiter. He pulled it off, though. I had chicken satay and half of a cremé brulée. Oh, and maybe a couple of glasses of wine. :-) Funny point of the evening: when the waiter, who spoke German, French, and Dutch (I think) had a table collapse on him mid-service, he resorted to the true international language. "Shit happens," he said.
