After the cyclists left yesterday, I decided to get my daily exercise by walking to the top of the Citadel, which is approximately ten or twenty billion steps. This is a photo of me as I reached the top gate. The views were magnificent once I got there, but I considered throwing myself over the wall so I wouldn’t have to walk back down.
Today we are in Castellane which is yet another stunningly beautiful French village. To know more:

On yesterday’s ride several of the cyclists were bitten by bees. (We go through acres of lavender fields which are stunningly beautiful but, alas, they draw bees. One girl was bitten on the right leg, which swelled magnificently, prompting one of the other cyclists to ask if she would only be able to ride in circles henceforth. Another guy was bitten right between the eyes, just above the bridge of his nose, causing his eyes to swell shut (making if difficult to ride a bike, to say the least.) Someone else had a bite on their neck with lots of swelling. I told Brad later that I thought a bee had bitten me on the belly which was the reason it was so swollen. He still thinks it’s the croissants.
