"Rest day"

Left -- Le Grand Canyon du Verdon

Today is a “rest day” for the cyclists and Brad decided to take the day off. I know that sounds obvious, but all the other cyclists went for a “ride” that may have involved up to 7,000 feet of climbing. I’m serious. Can you say obsessed?

Brad wanted to show me France’s answer to the Grand Canyon, known as Le Grand Canyon du Verdon. It was, as everything else we’ve seen, stunningly beautiful. He drove, so it took us 10 times as long as it would have taken us if I were driving, but without guardrails at the edge of these sidewalk-wide road-ribbons along sheer cliffs, it’s probably just as well.
