WEIGH IN!

Photos: the scale -- saying keep your shoes on when you weigh (a very good idea, I'd say); me on the scale (with my shoes on, which apparently weigh a full kilo - smile; sign in the lobby of a the restaurant where WW is held; a marble statue across the street from WW to remind you that this is the butt you're working towards...

I think I mentioned this morning that I feared the worse tonight -- and for good reason. In addition to my “road snacks,” I have eaten more three- and four-course meals over the past several weeks than I have in my entire lifetime. The fun part of weigh-in tonight was walking in and being recognized!

True, it was because it was the same leader I had a few weeks ago in Annecy, who also drives over here (an hour or so) to Geneva and leads this group. I didn’t recognize her at first, but boy did she recognize us -- although I don’t know how she could after all the weight I’ve put on! As I stepped off the scale, she announced (quietly) “ploos un” -- plus one -- which I could live with until I found out the the “one” she was referring to was one KILO -- or 2.20 pounds! That means, during this trip, I’ve gained 1.1 pounds. Sorry, Angela and gang back in Lakewood -- I let you down (again) but I’ll be UP AND RUNNING the moment the plane sets down in Denver tomorrow! (But, hey, I should get a star for attendance!)
