Please sir, may I have some more vegetables?

I ordered gazpacho as an appetizer at dinner a few nights ago. (I may have already told you, "entrees" are really appetizers. What we call the main event -- the entree -- is really the "plat" over here.) Here is my gazpacho, which was delicious if, well, a bit daunting. I wanted to tell the waiter that in our country we actually put the vegetables through the blender before putting them in the soup, but of course he wouldn't have understood a word I said.
