This says it all

I refuse to be a "France-basher," because I truly love this country. But, the French have, um, a few characteristics which make me very appreciative of my own country. For example, tips -- gratuities -- included in the price of the dinner ("Service compris.") This is a real money-saver for some of us who habitually leave a generous tip, but in my opinion it really serves as a disincentive to servers who get exactly the same amount of money (and plenty of it!) whether they do a good job or not. This sign -- on France's version of our own "7-11" stores illustrates the French work ethic. Their "7-11's" are open an hour later and they close three hours earlier. (8 a huit is, of course, 8 to 8). Chalk up another for the U.S.A.
